Now we will know how erection occurs, penis has two cylinder of sponge or tissues and these cylinders are parallel to the urethra and when erection occur the blood flow to the cylinder increases and when the cylinders fill with blood then erection occurs. And we can say that the main reason of erection is continuity of blood flow to this area and when ejaculation or sexual intercourse finished the blood flow decreases and penis get back in to non erectile position

In this case the narrowing and hardening of arteries reduce the blood flow to the body which causes the erectile dysfunction or impotence. This vascular disease also includes some other risk factors like high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol level and these factors also cause erectile dysfunction

2 - Diabetes is another big cause of erectile dysfunction because high level of blood sugar damage the blood vessels and nerves in the body and interrupt the blood flow to the penis which causes impotence

3 - There is some drugs are also responsible for erectile dysfunction like blood pressure medicine, heart medicines and other any kind of stress relief medicine. These medicines are not good for sexual health and cause impotence

4 - Some kinds of neurological disease are also responsible for erectile dysfunction. In this spinal cord injury and brain injury is also included which can also affect the blood flow to the penis

5 - Hormonale imbalance in the body is another big cause of erectile dysfunction in this case testosterone deficiency is main cause because erection is happens due to testosterone and pituitary gland tumor reduce the level of testosterone
